The 27th Halgarth Brine Dogs

The 27th Halgarth Brine Dogs are unlikely to become legends of the Imperium.

They aren’t celebrated heroes driven by unshakable faith or glorious ambition. They fight because the Imperium demands it.

After enduring a draining campaign and months stationed on a bleak frozen world, morale has deteriorated and enthusiasm for yet another war is almost nonexistent.

The novel provides a different perspective on the Astra Militarum by focusing on soldiers who have been pushed close to their limits.

The Frozen World of Oblazt

The Brine Dogs are stationed on Oblazt, a remote and unforgiving planet ruled by a corrupt aristocracy.

It is a cold, joyless place where the regiment has already spent months waiting for reassignment.

But Oblazt holds secrets far darker than its political corruption.

Something primal exists within the frozen world something drawn toward human weakness, transgression, and sin.

Bound for a Death World

When the regiment finally receives orders to leave Oblazt, the news brings little relief.

Their next destination is a death world.

For four members of the regiment, this becomes the breaking point.

Three veterans and an enigmatic enginseer decide that they will no longer accept whatever fate the Imperium has prepared for them.

They plan to desert.

A Desperate Act of Defiance

Desertion from the Astra Militarum carries terrible consequences, but the conspirators believe the alternative is almost certain death.

What begins as an attempt to escape their fate instead becomes the catalyst for something far worse.

Their actions unleash consequences that reach beyond military discipline and punishment, beginning a chain of tragedy that will leave a lasting mark on everyone involved.

Darkness Beneath the Ice

Cold Covenant blends the military setting of Warhammer 40,000 with supernatural and psychological horror.

Oblazt isn’t merely a harsh world.

Its past refuses to remain buried.

The story explores themes involving:

• Desertion

• Fear

• Faith

• Guilt

• Corruption

• Exhaustion

• Military discipline

• Moral compromise

• Supernatural horror

• The consequences of betrayal

As the characters attempt to escape one terrible fate, they discover that another may already be waiting for them.

Astra Militarum Beyond the Heroes

Rather than focusing on a famous regiment or legendary commander, Cold Covenant explores the lives of Imperial soldiers who may never be remembered.

The Brine Dogs are tired, flawed, and increasingly uncertain about what their sacrifices are actually achieving.

Their story provides a look at:

• The pressures placed upon Imperial soldiers

• Life inside an ordinary regiment

• Declining morale

• Endless reassignment

• The psychological cost of war

• The consequences of abandoning duty
