Desert Yellow is the paint you reach for the moment a desert force, tropical uniform or dusty stowage pile lands on the workbench warm and sandy without tipping into cartoon territory. It’s one of AK’s Quick Gen one-coat paints, so a single coat over a light primer gives you base, shade and highlight all at once as the resin formula pulls back off raised detail and pools into the recesses.

Best for

• Desert vehicles, uniforms and stowage in need of a warm sandy base
• Speed-painting rank-and-file over a white or light primer
• Getting shading and highlights in one coat, no layering required

How to use

• Prime light, apply a single even coat and let the formula do the shading
• Works neat from the bottle for brush application
• Touch up recesses with a second thin coat for deeper shadow

Load the brush, cover the model, and you’ve a table-ready desert unit panel shading included before the paint’s even dry.

One coat, campaign-ready. Pairs well with earth tones from the wider model paints range.
